January 29 Brands GP circuit trackday on soapboxBack in September I did a trackday with the lotus 7 Club of GB at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit. Adrian a fellow class 3 sprinter was doing some in car videoing, and on the final session I let him past so I could follow his lines Now although he was on slicks and I was on road legal acb10's he had a problem keeping me behind (remember it is not a race)
But the main point of this post is that I have put the entire lap and a bit up on soabbox just as a quick test of the soapbox site

January 26 Nitron on the recommended supplier list...I have added Nitron tot he recommended supplier list, not because of there product (not actually go them yet) but because of there extremely helpfulness and responsiveness during my dealings with them e.g. 1. my initial enquiries about what i wanted/needed where excellent and very insightful 2. I got a call a few days after ordering , asking where on the de-dion tube I would be mounting the shocks, which shows to me an appreciation of the speciifcs of a caterham and that at least they where aware of it. 3. When they rang me this week up to tell me about the Eibachs not being available, couteous and apologetic but not over the top, just a simple conversation that resulted in me going for the standard ones :) Will they stay there when I get the product, I have no reason to think otherwise :) Rob
Technorati tags: Nitron, shock absorber What Eibachs?Previusly mentioned that I was goign for some soopa doopa Eibach springs, however the nice people at Nitron rang me earlier in the week to let me know that they don't actually do them in the size/rating I wanted....so it is back to the standards ones that they supply. Will i see a difference, probably not and now i have a 100 quid to spend on something else :o Rob :)

Hopefully we will see Brodie at some club events, and hope he has a good time in his single seater. If I had the money and garage space I could be tempted but would be embarrassed about my inability to get the most out of it and get no where near brodies times, also if it was road legal it would be more appealing to me :) Rob :) Technorati tags: Hayabusa January 18 First part of Winter upgrade doneDone the easy part and ordered my main winter upgrade...
Went for 250 fronts and 150 rears on the spring rate.
I did ask on blatchat if the springs where worth it, and although I get the theory at a high level behind it I am not so sure I will notice any difference over the standard springs which Nitron use, whihc I believe are Falkners. But as someone said If you don't get them you will always wonder what if... so for the minimal extra outlay and the the premium bond win I thought it would be best ;) I had a good conversation over the phone with Nitron who where very friendly and knoweldgble about what i needed based upon my requirements. Hopefully they will be in my hands within the next 2 weeks, am in no hurry but am looking forward to them. Plan will be to sell the AVO's and recoup some of my outlay Rob |
